Swiss Young Microbiologists Symposium

The 2^nd SWISS YOUNG MICROBIOLOGISTS SYMPOSIUM 2022, is a collaboration between the American Society for Microbiology (ASM), the Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene, University of Zurich, and the Swiss Society for Food Hygiene (SGLH). This unique event targets undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate researchers from Switzerland in all fields of microbiology. The core aim of this event is to enhance data exchange and improve early-career scientists presentation skills by affording them the platform to share their project ideas and latest results. Participants will get input and feedback from peers improving their presentation skills and getting new insights to advance their research. We hope that this event will further encourage and foster networking, collaboration, data exchange and resource sharing.
 
 
For continued education, two keynote lectures on “Writing a fundable research grant proposal” and “Delivering an award-winning talk or poster”, will be given. At the end, six presenter prizes for the oral and poster sessions will be awarded to the best presenters as defined by a jury (1st place: 300 CHF each, plus certificate and annual ASM membership). There will be an open-ended mixer to further network. Meals and drinks will be provided.

The event is organized by Dr. sc. med. vet. Francis Muchaamba (ASM Young Ambassador to Switzerland) and Dr. Danai Etter (representative for SGLH), both Postdocs at the Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene, University of Zurich.

You can also register to attend without submitting an abstract by filling out everything else except the abstract section. Abstract submission deadline is the 12^th of June 2022. Attendance registration deadline is the 1^st of July 2022.
